The last game for the Ghosts proved to be just that! With a team boasting NBL legends, Butch Hays and Dave Simmons, the Ghosts were always going into the game as Underdogs. Not to mention the injury to Captain Bryon "Ritchie" Greer in the last game, the game started with a flurry of threes from Paul "Spade" Tunstead. Spade hit 2 from downtown, but that was all the Ghosts would see from the front.

Carlos was kept quiet with the good defence from the Lightning, but it was the leadership from Hays and Simmons that proved the difference.

It has been a great learning curve for myself and the Ghosts, having not played together at all. I had fun and some friendships have been forged for many years to come.

Campbelltown Ghosts scores and stats for 2004

All games are proudly brought to you by Isabelle's Woodfired Pizza in Leumeah.

Game 1: Campbelltown Ghosts 70 defeated Wagga Heat 61 (in OT). Carlos top scores 17 and David Bedford with 15. (Trisco 2 pts)

Game 2: Campbelltown Ghosts 95 defeated Dubbo Rams 89. Carlos with a game high 34 points and Mat Fuda with 13 off the bench. (Trisco 6 pts)

Game 3: Campbelltown Ghosts 70 lost Bathurst Goldminers 75. Carlos again top scores with 19 and Matty Hanlin chipped in with 13 points. A very tiring weekend road trip. (Trisco scores 8 pts)

Game 4: Campbelltown Ghosts 102 defeated Shoalhaven Tigers 70. Trisco and Carlos share top scorer honours with 22 points each. Trisco was 6/8 from 3pt range. (Trisco scores 22 pts)

Game 5: Campbelltown Ghosts 102 defeated Goulburn Bears 89. Matt Fuda top scores with 22 and Carlos chipped in with 20 in a well balanced scoring attack. (Trisco scores 14 pts)

Game 6: Campbelltown Ghosts 64 lost to Illawarra Hawks 80. David Bedford had 15 points and Carlos chipped in with 14. This was the worst loss but we have 3 weeks off to re-coup and then we avenge this loss with a replay against  the Hawks at their home. (Trisco scores 0 pts)

Game 7: Campbelltown Ghosts 66 lost to Illawarra Hawks 87. Dean Rados was the man to stop for the Ghosts, but we just did not manage to get the ball to him enough (ala Shaq in the NBA finals). Hawks managed to keep Ghosts leading pts scorer, Carlos to only 12 pts. They seemed to have the chemistry at the moment. Now its time to re-group before the weekend double against Bathurst and Dubbo. (Trisco scores 4 pts)

Game 8: Campbelltown Ghosts 107 defeated Bathurst Goldminers 50. This was a game that should have been closer. in the first encounter, the Ghosts were tired from a big nite. This time, it was the Goldminers who looked tired starting off very slow. Missing a few players, Carlos took it upon himself to score at will. He finished with 38 pts, but a nice overall team effort. (Trisco scores 7 pts)

Game 9: Campbelltown Ghosts 108 defeated Dubbo Rams 61. With Dean missing due to personal reasons,  it was up to Spade and the troops to fill the void left by "MINI" Shaq. Ritchie came out firing and finished the game with 23 pts. Matt Fuda played hard with 23 aswell and David had 19 pts. Missing a few players, Dubbo never looked comfortable with 6 consecutive turnovers in one quarter. (Trisco scores 11 pts)

Game 10: Campbelltown Ghosts 106 defeated Griffith Demons 47. Well the team we played against was very young and it showed early on with plenty of turnovers. With this behind us, Carlos and Dean began the on-slaught. Mat Fuda played well and out muscled their leading points scorer. Leading points scorer was Mat Fuda with 25, Dean had 23 pts and Carlos had 20 pts. Next game is on the road in Griffith and Wagga. (Trisco scores 10 pts)

Game 11: Campbelltown Ghosts 102 defeated Griffith Demons 84. This game is a little different to the one that was played 2 weeks ago. On their homecourt, they produced a great game for their fans and also the mascots that came and supported their local team. But the Ghosts hung onto the lead and finished with a bruising win. Carlos finished with 34 pts and Matt Fuda and Ritchie both had 16 pts. (Trisco scores 3 pts)

Game 12: Campbelltown Ghosts 80 defeated Wagga Wagga Heat 69. If we thought that the game the nite before todays game was bruising, then we were mistakenly wrong. Although the Ghosts had the lead for 90% of the game, the Heat just tried to out-hustle and out-muscle the Ghosts, leading to 2 brawls and Mat Fuda being very sore after being on the receiving end of those brawls. But with Coach Pete steadying the team, we managed to keep the W with a nice run in the last quarter that kept them scoreless for approx 5 mins to close the game out. Carlos backed up his solid weekend of scoring with 30 pts and Mat Fuda chipped in with a hard-earned 14 pts. 2 games to go in the season. (Trisco scores 3 pts)

Game 13: Campbelltown Ghosts 74 lost to Goulburn Bears 83. This weekend was crucial for the Ghosts in terms of where we are going to placed going into the Finals Series. But Goulburn, led by their fearless leader Sean Murphy and Anthony Stewart (16 and 17 pts respectively) they pulled away with a win to solidify their 2nd place ranking on the ladder. Carlos had a solid game again with 26 pts and Dean with 15 helped out, but it was not enough to escape with the win. (Trisco DNP-Personal Reasons)

Game 14: Campbelltown Ghosts 70 lost to Shoalhaven Tigers 85. With the Top two positions on the ladder out of the question with Goulburn and Illawarra winning games the day before, this game was equally important to stay in 3rd place on the ladder. Going into the 2nd half only 5 pts behind the Ghosts just did not have enough in the tank to come away with the win. Dean had 19 and Matt Fuda finished with 15 pts. David chipped in with 10 pts of his own. But now the season is over, the Finals Series begins and this is a whole new Ball Game. (Trisco DNP-Personal Reasons)

  • Carlos was on track to take the scoring crown this week, but managed only 6 pts in the final game against Shoalhaven, thus relinquishing the crown to Steve Quigley of the Central Coast Power with 23.30 ppg .
  • Carlos finished his stellar season with 22.10 ppg. Carlos' has always said that this season is not about his individual stats, but more about getting that Championship Crown for the Ghosts. Well done Carlos!!!
